FADE IN:

EXT. THUNDER BLUFF – CENTRAL RISE – NIGHT

Wide establishing shot of Thunder Bluff under a clear starry sky. Torches flicker against the night wind. A circle of young Tauren calves sits cross-legged on woven blankets around a low fire.

Seated on a heavy carved stone seat is DIGG — a massive Tauren Male High Warlord Druid. Battle scars mark his fur. Ritual paint streaks his muzzle. An antlered druidic headdress rests on his brow. A great totem staff tipped with living leaves and ancient bones leans against his shoulder. His voice is deep, resonant, and measured — the voice of a warrior who has led armies and still listens to the Earth Mother.

Camera slowly pushes in.

DIGG (deep, commanding yet warm) Gather close, calves of the tribes. The ancestors walk the wind tonight, and the spirits of the land listen. I am Digg, High Warlord and Druid of the Earthmother’s path. I will speak of a time when the Dark Portal did not wait for the living to enter it… when the Portal itself came for Azeroth. Hear this truth. It nearly ended the world we still walk.

The firelight flares. The camera tilts into the rising sparks and transitions.

EXT. BLASTED LANDS – DARK PORTAL – NIGHT (YEARS EARLIER)

Dramatic low-angle shot. Rain lashes the red earth. Green fel energy explodes outward. The camera whips around as the archway tears open from the other side.

DIGG (V.O.) In the days of the old wars, the Portal was meant for us to step through and carry the fight to the enemy. But the Legion had other plans. It opened… and the nightmare poured into our world instead.

Wide aerial shot: felguards, wrathguards, shivarra, and shattered Outland armies flood the Blasted Lands. Fel fire rains from a sky torn by a thousand green wounds.

MONTAGE – THE THREE WARS

Sweeping crane shots and shaky handheld angles:

Stormwind’s walls cracking under siege engines dragged from Hellfire.

Orgrimmar’s valleys choked with sulfur and screams.

Ashenvale burning as a black temple is carved into living wood.

Alliance and Horde fighting side by side, then apart, then together across three long years.

DIGG (V.O.) Three great wars followed. Three long seasons of blood and ash. The living fought the invaders on every shore and mountain. Magtheridon chained beneath a mountain that was not Hellfire. Kael’thas raised a spire over the ruins of Dalaran. Illidan carved his temple into Ashenvale. At the end of the third war… the true master came.

EXT. BLASTED LANDS – DARK PORTAL THRESHOLD – DAWN

Extreme wide shot. The Portal flares brighter than the sun. The ground splits for miles. SARGERAS steps through — impossibly tall, broken sword trailing rivers of green fire, body wreathed in shadow.

Low-angle tracking shot. Alliance and Horde armies reel. Soldiers are thrown like leaves. The camera shakes with each footstep.

BOLVAR FORDRAGON (shouting from the Alliance front) Hold the line! For Stormwind! For the Alliance!

THRALL (nearby, voice raw) Lok’tar! Do not break!

DIGG (V.O.) The Alliance and the Horde became dust beneath a god’s feet. Still they fought the lesser demons pouring from the Portal, because to stop was to die. They were collateral damage in a battle far above any mortal’s strength.

A wave of unnatural cold rolls in from the north. Frost spreads across the scorched ground in jagged white veins. Breath steams from every living mouth.

High crane shot: ARTHAS MENETHIL rides at the head of his Dark Legion — death knights, frost wyrms, and the dead of two worlds. Frostmourne gleams with hungry blue light.

ARTHAS (calm, carrying across the field) You have played your game long enough, Sargeras. This world is not yours to unmake.

Sargeras turns. The camera tilts up his immense form.

SARGERAS (voice like grinding continents) A failed weapon. A broken king of corpses. You were forged to serve… and you will burn with the rest.

Arthas dismounts. Close-up on his cold blue eyes.

ARTHAS I was forged to conquer.

They clash.

Explosive wide shot as Frostmourne meets Sargeras’s blade. A shockwave of ice and fel fire flattens demons and soldiers for hundreds of yards. The camera circles them rapidly.

Low-angle: Sargeras’s sword falls like a tower. Arthas slides aside and carves a frozen scar across the Titan’s forearm. Black ichor and freezing mist hiss where the runeblade cuts.

Overhead: Sargeras swings again, carving a canyon of green fire. Arthas vaults the collapsing earth and drives Frostmourne into the Titan’s knee, flash-freezing the joint.

SARGERAS (roaring) Insect!

The Dark Titan backhands Arthas with a fist the size of a fortress. Arthas is smashed across the field, armor cracking, but rises instantly as ice reforms the plates.

ARTHAS (never raising his voice) You taught the Legion to fear death. I am what death became when it learned to hate.

He raises Frostmourne. Souls howl within the blade. Blue-white energy spirals upward. Tight push-in on his burning eyes.

ARTHAS (softly) Now learn what it is to be broken.

Arthas charges. Rapid intercutting:

Slow-motion close-up of Frostmourne piercing Sargeras’s midsection.

Wide shot of ice exploding outward. Sargeras staggers; one knee slams into the earth, creating a new crater.

Arthas rips the blade free and strikes again — chest, shoulder — each blow flash-freezing more of the Titan.

Sargeras swings wildly. Arthas ducks and drives Frostmourne upward into the torso with both hands. A storm of screaming souls erupts from the wound.

SARGERAS (bellowing) This… is not… possible—!

ARTHAS (leaning in) Everything ends.

A final twist. A catastrophic blast of pure necrotic ice detonates inside Sargeras. The Dark Titan is hurled backward through the Portal. The archway screams. Green fire collapses inward. The stone cracks, buckles, and seals shut with a thunderclap that echoes across the continent.

Silence.

Slow push-in on Arthas alone in the devastation, Frostmourne still raised, ice and black blood steaming from the blade. He lowers the sword and turns.

DIGG (V.O.) And so the Dark Titan was broken… not by the armies of the living, but by the king of the dead who had once been their greatest weapon.

EXT. BLASTED LANDS – AFTERMATH – DAY

Slow tracking shot across exhausted armies. Smoke and ice mist drift over shattered ground. The sealed Portal stands cracked behind them.

Arthas’s gaze locks onto SYLVANAS WINDRUNNER, standing alone on a rise of broken black stone, bow in hand. The wind tugs at her cloak.

DIGG (V.O.) Now hear the truth of the Banshee Queen… and the chain the Lich King never truly released.

FLASHBACK – FALL OF SILVERMOON (desaturated, cold blue)

Quick cuts: Arthas driving Frostmourne through Sylvanas outside the gates. Her body collapsing. The first soul-binding rune searing into her spirit as she is raised as a banshee.

DIGG (V.O.) Long ago he murdered her and bound a piece of her very soul to his will with the power of Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination. She tore herself free once. She built a people from the broken and the forsaken. But the binding remained… sleeping… waiting for the day he would call it awake again.

BACK TO PRESENT

Arthas walks toward her, unhurried. Frostmourne rests against his shoulder. Sylvanas raises her bow.

SYLVANAS (cold, steady) One more step, Arthas, and I put this arrow through the eye-slit of that helmet.

ARTHAS You have said those words before. On the day I first killed you. They did not save you then.

SYLVANAS I am not the Ranger-General you butchered. I am the Banshee Queen. I am free of you.

ARTHAS (stops a few paces away) Are you?

He raises his free hand. A violet-black sigil blooms between them — the same ancient rune once carved into her soul.

Sylvanas looses the arrow. It freezes solid in mid-air and shatters.

SYLVANAS (straining) No… not again—!

ARTHAS (softly) You were always mine. I let you believe otherwise while the Legion demanded my attention. I watched you build your little kingdom of the Forsaken. I even allowed you to hate me. Hatred keeps the blade sharp.

The sigil pulses. Sylvanas drops to one knee, clutching her head. Her bow clatters. Blue light bleeds into her red eyes.

SYLVANAS (through gritted teeth) I… will not… kneel to you again!

ARTHAS (crouches so their faces are level) You already are. Do you remember the moment your heart stopped beating? Do you remember the first time you screamed my name — not in defiance, but because I commanded it? That scream still lives inside the rune. I only need to call it back.

SYLVANAS (trembling, voice cracking) I hate you… more than the Legion… more than death itself…

ARTHAS I know. That is why this is perfect.

The sigil flares. Sylvanas’s body jerks upright against her will. The red fire is swallowed by cold blue. A single dark tear of ichor runs down her cheek.

SYLVANAS (flat, controlled, undercurrent of buried agony) What… is your will… my King?

ARTHAS (takes her wrist) Come with me to Northrend. Stand at my side once more. The living are broken. The Portal is closed. There is nothing left to stop us.

EXT. BLASTED LANDS – DISTANT ALLIANCE OVERLOOK – SAME TIME

Wide shot of a rocky rise far from the main fighting. The sealed Portal and exhausted armies are visible in the distance. Young ANDUIN WRYNN stands in oversized but well-fitted royal armor, the golden lion on his chest plate. He looks small against the vast red landscape. Jaina and a few guards keep him at a safe distance.

DIGG (V.O.) The young king had been kept far from the worst of the fighting, as any child should have been. Yet even from that distant rise… the cold still found him.

Freezing mist rolls up the slope. Guards draw weapons. Jaina steps in front of Anduin.

Sylvanas emerges, eyes glowing cold blue, movements precise and unnatural. Arthas rides behind her on a skeletal steed.

ANDUIN (staring, voice small but trying to be brave) Lady Sylvanas…? Why are your eyes like that?

SYLVANAS (flat, strained underneath) The young lion of Stormwind will come with us.

ANDUIN (steps back) I don’t understand. You’re supposed to be one of the Horde… but you were fighting the demons too. Why are you with him?

ARTHAS She remembers who she belongs to. As will you.

Anduin notices the dark tear on her cheek.

ANDUIN (softly) You’re crying…

ANDUIN (voice breaking) You’re still in there, aren’t you? I can see it. Please… don’t let him make you do this.

SYLVANAS (control tightening, almost cracking) I… have no choice.

ANDUIN There’s always a choice. My father used to say that. Even when things are darkest… there’s always a choice.

For a moment the blue light flickers. Red bleeds through. Her hand trembles.

SYLVANAS (whispering, fighting) Run… little lion… run…

ARTHAS (sharp) Enough.

He raises a hand. The sigil pulses harder. The red is crushed out. She straightens, face cold once more.

SYLVANAS (flat) Forgive me, young king.

She raises both hands. Dark banshee magic erupts. Shadow tendrils coil around Anduin’s small armored form and lift him off his feet. His sword falls and clatters on the stone.

JAINA (screaming) Anduin!

Jaina unleashes a desperate blast of ice and arcane power. Arthas raises Frostmourne. The magic shatters against a wall of necrotic frost.

ANDUIN (struggling, tears in his eyes, looking only at Sylvanas) I know you’re still fighting him! I won’t hate you for this… I promise I won’t! Just hold on inside… please!

SYLVANAS (forced, almost inaudible) I am… so sorry… little lion…

ARTHAS Bring him.

Sylvanas’s body obeys. The tendrils drag the boy toward the waiting ice-and-shadow gate. Anduin keeps his eyes locked on her.

ANDUIN (calling out) I’ll pray for you every day! The Light hasn’t given up on you… and neither will I!

One last flicker of red tries to surface… then dies.

ARTHAS (quietly, to her) You did well. Just as you did the day I first raised you.

The three of them disappear into the gate. It seals with a sound like the world itself freezing shut.

Jaina falls to her knees on the empty rise.

JAINA (broken whisper) Anduin…

EXT. ICECROWN GLACIER – FROZEN THRONE APPROACH – NIGHT

Sweeping aerial shot of Northrend’s frozen wastes. The gate reopens on a high ridge overlooking Icecrown Citadel. Wind howls.

Arthas steps out, followed by Sylvanas leading the bound Anduin by a chain of pure shadow. Ranks of Scourge kneel.

ARTHAS (looking out over the glacier) Home.

He turns to them.

ARTHAS The Alliance will come for their young lion. The Horde will come for their banshee. Let them. When they arrive, they will find both already kneeling at my feet.

ANDUIN You can chain me… but you will never make me serve you.

ARTHAS I do not need you to serve, boy. I only need the Alliance to see their king broken beside the Banshee Queen. That will be enough.

He places a gauntleted hand on Sylvanas’s shoulder. She stands rigid.

ARTHAS (quieter) You did well.

SYLVANAS (flat, faintest tremor) Yes… my King.

A dark tear runs down her cheek. Anduin sees it.

ANDUIN (softly, only for her) Hold on, Lady Sylvanas. However long it takes… hold on. The Light hasn’t given up on you.

Her eyes flicker red for a fraction of a second, then the cold blue reasserts.

ARTHAS Bring him.
