The Wilds Call You Home

A welcome from the Warchief: who we are, who is called, and what this tribe intends.

SubjectThe Wilds Call You Home

The office I hold

The office that speaks for this banner is Warchief, which is to say guild master. I answer for the roster. I welcome you home.

This guild is <Hakkar>. We stand on World of Warcraft: Forever as Horde. The name is not a costume picked up in a capital city. Hakkar the Soulflayer is the blood loa of Zul'Gurub, and Hakkar was the name of our server. We wear that name as homage and as a promise. Anyone who walks under it should know what it asks. It asks you to remember where you came from, and it asks you to stand with the people who remember it with you.

Who is called

Hear the call plainly. All players of the Hakkar server, Alliance and Horde alike, are summoned to join together under the Hakkar Horde banner. The faction you wore in 2006 does not bar the gate. The wilds do not sort the old names by the color of a tabard before they recognize them. If you lived on that realm, this call is for you. You come as Horde now, under one banner, on official World of Warcraft: Forever. That is the shape of the tribe. We do not keep a second guild for the other side. We keep one ground, and we ask the old server to stand on it together.

The mission is simple enough to say in one breath, and serious enough to live by. Hakkar, the 2006-2007 Hakkar PvP server, is recruiting those players to World of Warcraft: Forever. We are not a general advertisement for every traveler who wants a guild tag. The spine of this recruitment is the people who already know the name because they logged into it. Other Horde players who meet the standard may apply, and they will be heard. The first call, the one I am making in this post, is to the server itself.

The years we mean

I want the dates kept straight, because a welcome that invents history is not a welcome. World of Warcraft launched in North America on November 23, 2004. Hakkar was not one of those launch realms. Blizzard opened the US Hakkar realm on January 2, 2006. It was a Central Time PvP server. The Burning Crusade launched in North America on January 16, 2007. Hakkar continued as an established US PvP realm into that expansion year. Those are the years we mean when we say 2006-2007. If you were there for part of that span, you were there. If you arrived later and only heard the stories, you are still welcome to read them, and you are still welcome to apply if you will play Horde to the standard we keep. Do not let anyone tell you the realm opened with the original launch. It did not.

ChaoticZero keeps the record as Historian of Hakkar. Cassanova keeps the raid as Raidchief. If you want the names and the offices side by side, they are on the roster.

What the tribe asks

What do we want from the people who answer? We want a guild that can be trusted with a night of someone's life. Show respect for each other's time and preparation. Speak early when life pulls you away. Do not ghost a plan you agreed to hold. Clear loot rules, no whispering for special deals, and an officer call when a piece is contested. Raid when the schedule locks. Until that lock is set, we will not invent nights or clock times and call them tradition. Open world belongs to the tribe when the tribe needs it. Voice is welcome if you have it. Silence that listens is still welcome. We are building people who show up, communicate, and treat a shared obligation as something heavier than a pickup queue.

The goals sit in that same ground. We will gather the Hakkar server under one Horde banner. We will keep the history accurate. We will raid as progression-minded Horde once the calendar is locked, with a stable core rather than a rotating crowd. We will leave room for players who are not yet in that core, because a tribe is larger than a raid lockout. We will stay serious. Pride is allowed. Ego that spends other people's time is not. A druid learns to tell the living wood from the dead branch. A guild learns the same way: by what it keeps, and by what it refuses to feed.

I am not asking you to perform a personality for the sake of the banner. I am asking you to be someone the people beside you can plan around. Bring the character you will actually play. Say what you can do, and say what you cannot. If you were Alliance on that server and the thought of a red tabard feels strange, say that too, and then decide. The call does not hide the faction. It states it. Under the Hakkar Horde banner, we fight as Horde. The Earth Mother does not require a speech from you. She requires that what you plant is what you meant to plant.

Where to stand

If this is your server, come read the about page, look at the guild, and see the raids page for how we intend to fight. When you are ready, apply on this website. Write your answers in your own words. I will know the old names by the way they speak about the place, not by a slogan. The Earth Mother keeps what is planted with care. Plant yourself here, under the Hakkar Horde banner, and we will see what grows.

I will leave you with the mission as I expect every officer to leave it: unchanged. Hakkar, the 2006-2007 Hakkar PvP server, is recruiting those players to World of Warcraft: Forever. That sentence is the work. My welcome is only the door in front of it. Stand with Forever Horde, and fight.
